Chapter 19 · Verse 1717
तं हिन्वन्ति मदच्युतं हरिं नदीषु वाजिनम्. इन्दुम् इन्द्राय मत्सरम्
That Soma, giver of showers of sweetness and joy, lord of peace and power, destroyer of suffering, energising and flowing in streams of the universal dynamics of existence, people admire and adore, for the joy and ecstasy of Indra, the living soul.
हे सोम! तुम आनंद के स्रोत हो, जो सभी को शक्ति और उल्लास प्रदान करते हैं, और इंद्र के लिए अत्यंत प्रिय हो।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1718
Å मन्द्रैर् इन्द्र हरिभिर् याहि मय्ञुररोम- भिः. मा त्वा के चिन् नि येमुर् इन्न पाशिनोइ᳓ति धन्वेव ताँन् इहि
Indra, lord of honour and excellence, come by the rays of light, beautiful and colourful as the feathers of the peacock. May none, as fowlers ensnare birds, catch you. Outskirt the fowlers as a rainbow and come.
हे इन्द्र, मयूर के पंखों के समान सुन्दर और रंगीन किरणों से आओ। जैसे पक्षी पकड़ने वाले पक्षियों को फँसाते हैं, वैसे कोई तुम्हें न पकड़े। इंद्रधनुष की तरह उन फँसाने वालों से बचकर आओ।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1720
गम्भीराँन् उदधीँन्र् इव क्रतुं पुष्यसि गा इव. प्र सुगोपा यवसं धेनवो यथा हृअदं कुल्या इवाशत
Pra sugopå yavasa≈ dhenavo yathå hæada≈ kulyå ivå‹ata. Indra, lord of life, power and prosperity, you promote and overfill the yajna and bless the yajamana like the deep sea and protect the earths, cows and the grass for them. As a good cowherd protects and feeds the cows and guards the fodder for the cows, so do you, O man, protect and promote the yajna. And as the cows gain the food, and as the rivers and rivulets reach the sea for self-fulfilment, so would you enjoy the delicacies of life and reach the Lord, Indra, for self-fulfilment.
हे इन्द्र, आप गहरे समुद्र की तरह यज्ञ को बढ़ाते हैं और पृथ्वी, गौओं और उनके चारे की रक्षा करते हैं।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1721
यथा गौरो अपा कृतं तृष्यन्न् एत्यवेरिणम्. Åपित्वे नः प्रपित्वे त्ञुयम् आ गहि कण्वेषु सु सचा पिब
Åpitve na¨ prapitve tμuyam å gahi kaƒve¶u su sacå piba. Just as a thirsty stag in the desert rushes to a pool full of water so, O friend in family of the wise, come morning, come evening, come fast and drink the soma of love and reverence in joy.
जैसे प्यासा हिरण जल से भरे सरोवर की ओर दौड़ता है, वैसे ही हे मित्र, प्रेम और श्रद्धा के सोम का पान करने के लिए आओ।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1722
मन्दन्तु त्वा मघवन्न् इन्द्रेन्दवो राधो- देयाय सुन्वते. Åमुष्या सोमम् अपिबश् चम्ञु सुतं ज्येष्थं तदधिषे सहः
Indra, lord of power and glory, may these soma drinks exhilarate you for the bestowal of wealth and honour upon the dedicated lover of the soma of honour and enlightenment. Having won over the soma of victory the soma of ecstasy of the highest order and for that reason you command the courage and confidence of the victor.
हे ऐश्वर्यवान इन्द्र, सोमपान से प्रसन्न होकर, यज्ञकर्ता को धन और सम्मान प्रदान करें। आपने विजय और परम आनंद के सोम का पान किया है, इसलिए आप सामर्थ्य के स्वामी हैं।

त्वमΔग प्र शँन्सिषो देवः सविष्ंह मर्- त्यम्. न त्वद् अन्यो मघवन्न् अस्ति मर्डि- तेन्द्र ब्रवीमि ते वचः
Anga, dear friend, Indra, dear and saviour, giver of joy, omnipotent lord, self-refulgent and omniscient, reveal the truth for mortal humanity. Lord of universal wealth, none other than you is the giver of peace and bliss. I speak the very word of yours in covenant.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप ही सत्य के प्रकाशक हैं, आपके सिवा कोई नहीं। मैं आपके वचनों को ही सत्य मानता हूँ।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1725
प्रति ष्या स्ञुनरी जनी व्युच्छन्ती परि स्वसुः. दिवो अदर्शि दुहिता
Divo adar‹i duhitå. That joyous dawn, pioneer of the sun, harbinger the night, rises to view every morning as the daughter of heaven, arousing the world to fresh life.
हे सूर्य की अग्रगामी, रात्रि की शुभ सूचना देने वाली, स्वर्ग की पुत्री उषा, प्रतिदिन प्रकाशित होती हुई, संसार को नवजीवन के लिए जगाती है।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1726
अश्वेव चित्रारुषी माता गवाम् ऋतावरी. सखा भ्ञुद् अश्विनोर् उषाः
Like a graceful mare, crimson red, wondrous bright, mother pioneer of sunrays, shower of nature's light and bliss, the dawn is a friend of the Ashvins, the sun and moon.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों के मित्र, सूर्य और चंद्रमा की तरह, प्रकृति की प्रकाश और आनंद की वर्षा करने वाली, प्रभात की लालिमा अद्भुत रूप से चमकती है।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1727
उत सखास्यश्विनोर् उत माता गवाम् असि. उतोषो वस्व ईशिषे
Uto¶o vasva ∂‹i¶e. O Dawn, while you are a friend of the sun and moon and mother of sunrays, you also command the wealths of the world.
हे उषा, तुम सूर्य और चंद्रमा की मित्र तथा सूर्य-किरणों की माता हो, और तुम जगत् के ऐश्वर्यों पर भी शासन करती हो।

एषो उषा अप्ञुर्व्या व्युच्छति प्रिया दिवः. स्तुषे वाम् अश्विना बृहत्
Stu¶e våm a‹vinå bæhat. This glorious dawn, darling of the sun, shines forth from heaven and proclaims the day. Ashvins, harbingers of this glory, I admire you immensely - infinitely.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, आपकी स्तुति है, यह तेजस्वी प्रभात, सूर्य की प्रिय, स्वर्ग से प्रकाशित होकर दिन का उद्घोष करती है।

या दस्रा सिन्धु-मातरा मनोतरा रयीणाम्. धिया देवा वसुविदा
Dhiyå devå vasuvidå. Ashvins, harbingers of the dawn, wonder-workers are they. Born of the oceans of space, they create the seas of morning mist. Faster than the mind, they bring wealths of the world. With intelligence and inspiration, they reveal the treasures of the Vasus, they are brilliant, generous, divine.
हे अश्विनों, आप सिंधु माता के समान हैं, मन से भी तेज गति वाले और धन लाने वाले हैं।

वच्यन्ते वां ककुहासो ज्ञुर्णायाम् अधि विष्ंअपि यद्वां रथो विभिष् पतात्
Yadvå≈ ratho vibhi¶ patåt. Ashvins, harbingers of light, knowledge and wealth across the Vasus, scientists and technologists, veterans of vision and wisdom celebrate your achievement when your chariot flies like a bird into the ancient sky over the heavens.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, ज्ञान और धन के अग्रदूतों, आपके रथ के आकाश में पक्षी की भांति उड़ने पर, हम आपकी विजय का उत्सव मनाते हैं।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1731
उषस् तच् चित्रम् आ भरास्मभ्यं वाजिनीवति. येन तोकं च तनयं च धामहे
Yena toka≈ ca tanaya≈ ca dhåmahe. O Dawn, harbinger of food, energy and rejuvenation of thought, will and action, bear and bring that health and wealth of wondrous and various kinds for us by which we may be able to beget, maintain and advance our children and grand-children and others, friends and assistants in life.
हे उषा, हे शक्ति और ज्ञान की प्रदाता, अपने उस अद्भुत ऐश्वर्य को हमारे लिए लाओ, जिससे हम संतान और वंश को बढ़ा सकें।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1732
उषो अद्येह गोमत्यश्वावति विभावरि. रेवद् अस्मे व्युच्छ स्ञुनृतावति
Revad asme vyuccha sμunætåvati. O Dawn, lady of light, generous with cows and fertility, horses and fast movement, light and knowledge, truth and piety of life with favours of divinity, bear and bless us here and now in this life with wealth of prosperity and a happy home.
हे प्रकाशमयी उषा, गौओं, अश्वों, ज्ञान और सत्य से युक्त होकर, आज हमारे लिए ऐश्वर्य और सुख से युक्त होकर उदित हो।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1733
युΔक्ष्वा हि वाजिनीवत्यश्वाँन् अद्यारुणाँन् उषः. अथा नो विश्वा सौभगान्या वह
Athå no vi‹vå saubhagånyå vaha. O Dawn, lady of radiance and the energy and vibrancy of life, yoke the red rays of sunbeams to your celestial chariot and then bear and bring us all the wealths and good fortunes of the world.
हे दीप्तिमान उषा, जीवन की शक्ति और ऊर्जा से युक्त, सूर्य की लाल किरणों को अपने रथ में जोतो और फिर हमें संसार के समस्त सौभाग्य और धन प्रदान करो।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1734
अश्विना वर्तिर् अस्मद् आ गोमद् दस्रा हिरण्यवत्. अर्वाग्रथं समनसा नि यच्छतम्
Generous scientists of fire and waters, Ashvins, expert technologists working together with equal cooperative mind, bring hither before us a chariot sensitive in reception and communication of signals, golden in quality and extremely fast in motion anywhere on earth, over water and in the sky.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, आप दोनों समान मन से हमारे सम्मुख पधारें।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1735
एह देवा मयोभुवा दस्रा हिरण्यवर्त्तनी. उषर्बुधो वहन्तु सोमपीतये
U¶arbudho vahantu somap∂taye. Let the Ashvins, people of divine nature, scientists and technologists, generous experts of fire and water, water and air, creators of comfort and joy, working on the golden sunbeams of the morning dawn, create and bring us energy and vitality for the health, vitality and joy of humanity.
हे देवगण, सुखदायक, कुशल, स्वर्ण-किरणों वाले, हमें शक्ति और जीवन प्रदान करें।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1736
यावित्था श्लोकम् आ दिवो ज्योतिर् जनाय चक्रथुः. Å न ञुर्जं वहतम् अश्विना युवम्
Å na μurja≈ vahatam a‹vinå yuvam. Ashvins, scientist and technologist of fire and water, both of you thus from the sun create the mantra, light and energy and bring it for us and the people for common use.
हे अश्विनौ, आप दोनों सूर्य से मनुष्यों के लिए प्रकाश उत्पन्न करें।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1737
अग्निं तं मन्ये यो वसुर् अस्तं यं यन्ति धेनवः. अस्तम् अर्वन्त आशवोइ᳓स्तं नित्यासो वाजिन इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर
Agni is that power and presence of energy, I believe, which pervades everything and in which and by which all things abide and function. The cows abide in it, move by it and end up into it. Horses abide in it, move by it and end into it. So do all fast moving streams and objects, permanent forms, and all forms of energy move by it and retire into it. O scholar of Agni, universal energy, produce and bring up food and energy for the celebrants and supplicants for Agni. This energy is originally set in motion by Agni, the Cosmic omnipotent Spirit. (In the mantra agni is described as astam, i.e., set into motion.)
हे अग्निदेव, मैं आपको वह सर्वव्यापी शक्ति मानता हूँ जिसमें सब कुछ स्थित है और जिससे सब कुछ संचालित होता है; गौएँ, अश्व और वेगवान नदियाँ आप में ही निवास करती हैं, आप से ही चलती हैं और आप में ही विलीन होती हैं। हे स्तुति करने वालों के लिए अन्न और बल प्रदान करने वाले, हमें भी अन्न और बल प्रदान करें।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1738
अग्निर् हि वाजिनं विशे ददाति विश्वचर्षणिः. अग्नी राये स्वाभुवं स प्रीतो याति वार्यम् इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर
Agn∂ råye svåbhuva≈ sa pr∂to yåti våryam i¶a≈ stotæbhya å bhara. Agni, light and energy of existence, alone provides fast modes of transport for the people. Studied and developed for wealth, Agni provides automatic and self-sustaining energy for the people. O scholar scientist, create and bring choice foods and energies for the celebrants and supplicants.
अग्नि ही समस्त ऐश्वर्यों को प्रदान करता है और समस्त जगत् में व्याप्त है।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1739
सो अग्निर् यो वसुर्गृणे सं यम् आयन्ति धेन- वः. सम् अर्वन्तो रघुद्रुवः सं सुजातासः स्ञुरय इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर
That is Agni which is the abiding power, pervasive and moving force, and that is what I study and celebrate. The cows and horses, stars and planets and the rays of light, and sound and word come from, move by and go unto it, from which and into which and by which the slow moving ones move and function; and by which and toward which brave and eminent scholars rise to fame and create and produce the wealth of food and energy for the celebrants and supplicants.
वह अग्नि ही वह शक्ति है जो सर्वत्र व्याप्त है और गतिमान है, उसी से सब कुछ उत्पन्न होता है, उसी में लीन होता है, और उसी से सब कुछ संचालित होता है।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1740
महे नो अद्य बोधयोषो राये दिवित्मती. यथा चिन्नो अबोधयः सत्यश्रवसि वाय्ये सुजाते अश्वस्ञुनृते
O dawn, lady of morning light brilliant with splendour, arouse us and enlighten us today for the achievement of grandeur, wealth and excellence of life as you have been the giver of enlightenment and generosity ever before, O majesty of renown, symbol of life's extension, nobly born, commander of the nation's power, achievement and love of noble truth. (Rg. 5- 79-1) (Swami Dayananda interprets this mantra as an address to the lady of the house.)
हे प्रकाशमयी उषा, आज हमें धन-वैभव और उत्कृष्ट जीवन के लिए जागृत और प्रबुद्ध करो, जैसे तुम पूर्व में भी ज्ञान और उदारता की प्रदाता रही हो।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1742
सा नो अद्याभरद् वसुर् व्युच्छा दुहितर् दिवः. यो व्यौच्छः सहीयसि सत्यश्रवसि वाय्ये सुजाते अश्वस्ञुनृते
Yo vyauccha¨ sah∂yasi satya‹ravasi våyye sujåte a‹vasμunæte. May she, daughter of the light of heaven, harbinger of all wealth, establish us today in the light of life. She is most forbearing, dedicated to truth and prosperity, lovable, nobly born, the enlightened lady of knowledge and eternal truth who herself shines in splendour.
हे प्रकाश की पुत्री, धन की प्रदाता, आज हमें जीवन के प्रकाश में स्थापित करो।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1743
प्रति प्रियतमं रथं वृषणं वसुवाह- नम्. स्तोता वाम् अश्विनावृषि स्तोमेभिर् भ्ञुषति प्रति माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम्
Ashvins, leading lights of humanity, the celebrant visionary of life's reality and mantric meaning, adores your achievement in befitting words of song in response to the beauty of your dearest chariot which is the carrier and harbinger of showers of wealth and well being. O creators and makers of the sweets of existence, the celebrant prays: Listen to my song of adoration and accept the invitation to live and create the joy of life.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, आपके प्रिय रथ की स्तुति करते हुए, जो धन और कल्याण का वाहक है, मैं अपने मंत्रों से आपकी महिमा का गान करता हूँ।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1744
अत्यायातम् अश्विना तिरो विश्वा अहं सना. दस्रा हिरण्य-वर्त्तनी सुषुम्णा सिन्धु-वाहसा माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम्
Ashvins, leading lights of life in existence, destroyers of suffering, harbingers of peace and prosperity, creators of honey sweets, listen to my prayer: Come over regions of earth across the spaces, travelling by golden chariots over golden highways, navigating by rivers and oceans, so that I may cross all hurdles of existence and live as the immortal that I am.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, जो जीवन के प्रकाशक, दुःखों के नाशक, शांति और समृद्धि के अग्रदूत हैं, मेरे इस आह्वान को सुनें और अपने स्वर्णिम रथों पर सवार होकर, नदियों और सागरों के पार से मेरे पास पधारें।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1745
Å नो रत्नानि बिभ्रतावश्विना गच्छतं युवम्. रुद्रा हिरण्यवर्त्तनी जुषाणा वाजिनी- वस्ञु माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम्
Ashvins, come you both to us, bearing jewel wealths of life; come, O Rudras, dispensers of justice and punishment, travelling by golden chariot over of food, energy and speedy progress, creators of the sweets of life, come in response to our invocation and listen to our prayer.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, रत्नों से युक्त होकर हमारे पास आइए; हे रुद्रों, स्वर्ण रथों पर आरूढ़ होकर, अन्न और ऊर्जा के दाता, जीवन की मधुरता के रचयिता, हमारी पुकार सुनकर यहाँ पधारिए।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1746
अबोध्यग्निः समिधा जनानाम् प्रति धेनुम् इवायतीम् उषासम्. यह्वा इव प्र वयाम् उज्जिहा- नाः. प्र भानवः सस्रते नाकम् अच्छ
Agni is seen and known while rising by the burning samidhas lighted by the yajakas at dawn coming up like a cow early in the morning, and the flames, like branches of a mighty tree, rise brilliantly and touch the sky where there is no pain, no darkness.
हे अग्निदेव! आप प्रातःकाल में यज्ञकर्ताओं द्वारा प्रज्वलित समिधाओं से प्रकाशित होकर, गौ के समान उठते हुए, महान वृक्ष की शाखाओं के समान आपकी ज्वालाएँ प्रकाशमान होकर स्वर्ग को प्राप्त होती हैं।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1747
अबोधि होता यजथाय देवान् ञुर्ध्वो अग्निः सुमनाः प्रातर् अस्थात्. समिद्धस्य रुशद् अदर्शि पाजो महान् देवस् तमसो निरमोचि
The yajaka Agni, good at heart, is seen to invoke the divinities and noble sages to the yajna and rises high while the fire keeps burning and rising. The light of the burning fire is seen as a blissful divine power and then the great refulgent sun rises from the night's darkness.
हे अग्निदेव! आप यज्ञ के लिए देवताओं को जागृत करते हैं, प्रसन्न मन से प्रात:काल उठते हैं। प्रज्वलित अग्नि का महान तेज प्रकट होता है, और अंधकार से सूर्य का उदय होता है।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1748
यद् ईम् गणस्य रशनाम् अजीगः शुचिर् अΔक्ते शुचिभिर् गोभिर् अग्निः. Åद् दक्षिणा युज्यते वाजयन्त्युत्तानाम् ञुर्ध्वो अधयज् जुह्ञुभिः
våjayantyuttånåm μurdhvo adhayaj juhμubhi¨. When the pure and lustrous fire of yajna, as the sun, rises with its pure bright flames and takes over the reins of the conduct of the yajnic world around, then the invigorating and powerful dakshina offering is made with the ladles, the flames of fire rise high, and the fire higher and higher up voraciously consumes the offering.
यज्ञ की शुद्ध और दीप्तिमान अग्नि के उदय होने पर, यज्ञ की विधियों को संचालित करने वाली शक्ति के रूप में, पात्रों द्वारा बलशाली आहुति दी जाती है।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1749
इदं श्रेष्ंहं ज्योतिषां ज्योतिर् आगाच् चित्रः प्रकेतो अजनिष्ंअ विभ्वा. यथा प्रस्ञुता सवितुः सवायैवा रात्र्युषसे योनिम् आरैक्
Here comes this dawn, light of lights, supreme, wonderful, bright and enlightening, rising and expanding. Just as the night comes over for regeneration of the sun, so does it uncover the womb of darkness for the coming of dawn.
हे रात्रि, तू सूर्य की तरह ही, प्रकाशों के प्रकाश के रूप में, अद्भुत और ज्ञानवर्धक बनकर, विस्तृत होती हुई, अंधकार के गर्भ को खोलकर, प्रभात के आगमन के लिए मार्ग प्रशस्त करती है।

रुशद्वत्सा रुशती श्वेत्यागाद् आरैगु क्र्ष्णा सदनान्यस्याः. समानबन्ध्ञु अमृते अन्ञुची द्यावा वर्णं चरत आमिनाने
The bright dawn comes shining with light, bearing the bright sun new born. The dark night leaves its regions open for the light. Both, like sisters of the same one brother, immortal, assume their own form of light, one bright, the other covered and both come in succession, each retiring and succeeding the other.
प्रकाशमान उषा देवी सूर्य को लेकर आती हैं, और रात्रि अपने स्थान को छोड़कर प्रकाश के लिए मार्ग प्रशस्त करती है, दोनों बहनें अमर होकर अपने-अपने प्रकाश रूप में आती हैं।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1751
समानो अध्वा स्वस्रोर् अनन्तस् तम् अन्यान्या चरतो देव्शिष्ंए. न मेथेते न तस्थतुः सुमेके नक्तोषासा समन्सा विर्ञुपे
One and the same is the path of the two sisters, which is space, endless and infinite, existentially speaking, which they follow one after the other as ordained by the Divine. They neither overlap, nor encroach, nor clash, nor stand still for a moment. Fixed and firm, each on its own, and of harmonious nature are they, although the night and the dawn are of different forms which are apparently contradictory as light and darkness.
दोनों बहनों का मार्ग एक ही है, जो अनंत और असीम है, और वे देवों द्वारा निर्धारित अनुसार एक के बाद एक चलती हैं। वे न तो एक-दूसरे को ओवरलैप करती हैं, न ही अतिक्रमण करती हैं, न ही टकराती हैं, और न ही एक पल के लिए भी स्थिर रहती हैं।

Å भात्यग्निर् उषसाम् अनीकम् उद् विप्राणां देवया वाचो अस्थुः. अर्वा¤चा न्ञुनं रथ्येह यातं पीपिवाँन्सम् अश्विना घर्मम् अच्छ
The holy fire of the sun shines here while the splendour of the dawn radiates as advance forces of the solar fire, and the holy voices of the sages arise in adoration. O Ashvins, vitalities of divinity, reach here by chariot of the dawn and join the rising fire of the house-hold yajna of noble men and women.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, सूर्य की दीप्ति और उषा की शोभा के साथ, यज्ञ की पवित्र वाणी उठ रही है, आप रथ पर सवार होकर इस यज्ञ में पधारें और घृत का पान करें।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1753
न संस्कृतं प्र मिमीतो गमिष्ंहान्ति न्ञुनम् अश्विनोपस्तुतेह. दिवाभिपित्वेइ᳓वसागमिष्ंहा प्रत्यवर्तिं दाशुषे शम्-भविष्ंहा
Ashvins, divinities of nature and humanity, most auspicious harbingers of peace and joy, invoked and invited to the yajna here, celebrated and adored, coming at the fastest, almost instantly reaching with protection and promotion at the rise of the day, you do not destroy, nor restrict, nor confine what has been refined, seasoned and sanctified by yajna. In fact, you bring safety and security against adversity and self-betrayal for the generous yajamana at his closest.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, जो यज्ञ में स्तुति किए जाते हैं, आप शीघ्रता से आकर रक्षा और उन्नति प्रदान करते हैं, विनाश या बंधन नहीं करते।

उता यातं सΔगवे प्रातर् अह्नो मध्यन्दिन उदिता स्ञुर्यस्य. दिवा नक्तम् अवसा शन्तमेन नेदानीं पीतिर् अश्विना ततान
And this exuberance of yajnic celebration and joy is not confined to the present moment only, it extends over days and nights. Come Ashvins, divinities of nature and nobilities of men and women, come at the rise of dawn, at mid day when the sun is risen up on high, in the evening when the cows come home. Come all day and night with your gifts of safety and security, peace and joy.
हे अश्विनौ, सूर्योदय, मध्याह्न और सायंकाल में, दिन-रात हमारे यज्ञ में पधारें।

एता उ त्या उषसः केतुम् अक्रत प्ञुर्वे अर्धे रजसो भानुम् अ¤जते. निष्कृण्वाना आयुधानीव ध्र्ष्णवः प्रति गावोइ᳓रुषीर्यन्ति मातरः
The lights of the dawn over there in the eastern half of the sky over earth reveal the sun and proclaim the day. Like resolute warriors burnishing their swords, the flames of the dawn, shining scarlet red, move forward with the rising sun bringing a fresh breath of life for humanity, like mother cows.
हे उषा देवी, तुम पूर्व दिशा में प्रकाश फैलाकर सूर्य का तेज प्रकट करती हो, जैसे वीर योद्धा अपने शस्त्रों को चमकाते हैं। तुम्हारी लालिमायुक्त किरणें सूर्य के साथ आगे बढ़ती हैं, मानो गौएँ अपनी माँ की ओर दौड़ रही हों।

उद् अपप्तन्न् अरुणा भानवो वृथा स्वायुजो अरुषीर्गा अयुक्षत. अक्रन्न् उषासो वयुनानि प्ञुर्वथा रुशन्तं भानुम् अरुषीर् अशिश्रयुः
Up rise the red flames of the dawn, naturally and spontaneously like willing red horses yoked to the chariot. The ruddy lights of the dawn awakening humanity to their daily chores as before proclaim the rise of the brilliant sun in obedience to his command.
उषा के लाल प्रकाश, स्वेच्छा से जुते हुए लाल घोड़ों की तरह, स्वाभाविक रूप से उठते हैं; वे पूर्व की तरह ही अपनी शक्ति से सूर्य के तेजस्वी प्रकाश को प्रकट करते हैं।

अर्चन्ति नारीर् अपसो न विष्ंइभिः समानेन योजनेना परावतः. इषं वहन्तीः सुकृते सुदानवे विश्वेद् अह यजमानाय सुन्वते
The lights of the dawn, like blessed women expert in their noble work, serve and illumine from afar with equal brilliance various regions of the world, bearing vital food and rejuvenating energy for the pious and generous yajamana dedicated to the creative service of life and nature everywhere every day.
हे प्रकाशमान देवगण, आप महान कर्मों में कुशल स्त्रियों के समान, समान तेज से दूर-दूर तक व्याप्त होकर, यज्ञ करने वाले भक्त के लिए अन्न और बल लाते हैं।

अबोध्यग्निर् ज्म उदेति स्ञुर्यो व्य्ञुषाश् चन्द्रा मह्यावो अर्चिषा. Åयुक्षाताम् अश्विना यातवे रथं प्रासावीद् देवः सविता जगत् पृथक्
The fire of Agni awakes and stirs the world with life afresh. The sun is on the rise over the earth. The great and golden dawn wrapt in beauty waxes on the horizon with the splendour of her glory. The Ashvins, harbingers of new light and knowledge, harness their chariot for the daily round. And the generous lord of light and life, Savita, in his own gracious way, showers and sanctifies the moving world with sunlight and new inspiration for action.
अग्नि जागृत हुआ है, सूर्य उदय हो रहा है, और महान उषा (प्रभात) अपनी महिमा से प्रकाशित हो रही है; देव सविता ने अश्विनीकुमारों को यात्रा के लिए रथ को प्रेरित किया है।

यद् यु¤जाथे वृषणम् अश्विना रथं घृतेन नो मधुना क्षत्रम् उक्षतम्. अस्माकं ब्रह्म पृतनासु जिन्वतं वयं धना शुरसाता भजेमहि
Ashvins, harbingers of new light and life, chariot leaders of the world, you harness and ride your chariot of might and victory and sprinkle and inspire the Kshatra order of our defence and governance with exciting spirit of life and honey sweets of power and prosperity. In our struggle for the joy of life, inspire and strengthen our Brahma system of research and education with new knowledge and self-confidence. We pray, may we achieve the prize of success and victory in our battles of the brave.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, अपने रथ को शक्ति और विजय से युक्त कर, हमें मधु और क्षत्र (रक्षा और शासन) से परिपूर्ण करो, जिससे हम धन-संपन्न हों।

अर्वाΔ त्रिचक्रो मधुवाहनो रथो जीराश्वो अश्विनोर् यातु सुष्ंउतः. त्रिबन्धुरो मघवा विश्वसौभगः शं न आ वक्षद् द्विपदे चतुष्पदे
Here, may the three engined, three staged, honey carrier, superfast chariot of the Ashvins come, the chariot all-acclaimed, mighty, laden with wealth and splendours of the world, and may that chariot, we pray, bring us peace, prosperity and well-being for our humans and for our animal world.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों! मधु ले जाने वाले, तीन पहियों वाले, अत्यंत वेगवान रथ से, जो ऐश्वर्य से परिपूर्ण है, हमारे मनुष्यों और पशुओं के लिए सुख और समृद्धि लाओ।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1761
प्र ते धारा असश्चतो दिवो न यन्ति वृष्ंअयः. अच्छा वाजं सहस्रिणम्
Acchå våja≈ sahasriƒam. O Soma, the ceaseless streams of your inexhaustible ecstasy flow like rains of heavenly light, bringing thousandfold strength, energy and joy for the celebrants.
हे सोम, स्वर्ग से बरसती हुई वर्षा की भांति, आपकी अनवरत धाराएं सहस्त्रों की संख्या में शक्ति और आनंद लाती हैं।

अभि प्रियाणि काव्या विश्वा चक्षाणो अर्षति. हरिस् तु¤जान आयुधा
Haris tu¤jåna åyudhå. Soma, spirit of joy, destroyer of suffering, watching all human activity, flows forth for its dear favourites, striking its arms against adverse forces.
हे सोम! तुम आनंद के स्रोत हो, दुखों के नाशक हो, और सभी मानवीय क्रियाओं को देखते हुए, अपने प्रियजनों के लिए बहते हो, प्रतिकूल शक्तियों पर प्रहार करते हो।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1763
स मर्मृजान आयुभिर् इभो राजेव सुव्रतः. ›येनो न वΔसु षीदति
Soma, adored and glorified by people, as a self- controlled, powerful and brilliant ruler ever awake and unfailing power, pervades in the human common-wealth and the entire world of sustenance.
हे सोम! मनुष्यों द्वारा पूजित और प्रशंसित, सुव्रत (उत्तम नियमों वाले) राजा के समान, तुम सर्वत्र व्याप्त हो।

स नो विश्वा दिवो वस्ञुतो पृथिव्या अधि. पुनान इन्दवा भर
Punåna indavå bhara. Soma, lord of wealth, beauty and excellence, ever pure and sanctifying, may, we pray, bring us all the wealth, honour and fame of life on earth and the light and magnificence of heaven.
हे सोम! तू धन, सौंदर्य और उत्कृष्टता का स्वामी है, सदा पवित्र और शुद्ध करने वाला है, तू हमें पृथ्वी और स्वर्ग दोनों का समस्त ऐश्वर्य प्रदान कर।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1765
प्रास्य धारा अक्षरन् वृष्णः सुतस्यौजसः. देवाँन् अनु प्रभ्ञुषतः
Devå~n anu prabhμu¶ata¨. In character with its self-refulgence, and glorifying its divine powers in nature and humanity, the streams of this mighty virile Soma, pure and immaculate, flow forth with the light and lustre of its omnipotence.
यह सोम, अपने तेजस्वी स्वरूप से युक्त, अपनी दिव्य शक्तियों को प्रकट करता हुआ, अपनी सर्वशक्तिमत्ता के प्रकाश और तेज से प्रवाहित होता है।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1766
सप्तिम् मृजन्ति वेधसो गृणन्तः कारवो गिरा. ज्योतिर् जज्¤आनम् उक्थ्यम्
Jyotir jaj¤ånam ukthyam. Sages embellish and exalt the might of the omniscient and omnipotent Soma, poets and artists, with the language of their art, celebrate the divine light thus emerging and rising more and more admirable.
ऋषिगण वाणी द्वारा सोम की शक्ति को अलंकृत और वर्धित करते हैं, वेदों के ज्ञाता कविगण उस दिव्य प्रकाश का उत्सव मनाते हैं।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1767
सुषहा सोम तानि ते पुनानाय प्रभ्ञुवसो. वर्धा समुद्रम् उक्थ्य
Vardhå samudram ukthya. O Soma, lord of universal wealth, power and honour, those divine showers of generosity, those songs of adoration and lights of glory, are holy and winsome for your celebrant. Let the admirable ocean rise and expand.
हे सोम, हे सर्वव्यापी ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी, वे पवित्र और रमणीय वर्षा, स्तुतिगान और प्रकाश आपके उपासक के लिए हैं।

एष ब्रह्मा य ऋत्विय इन्द्रो नाम श्रुतो गृणे
This lord Infinite and Absolute, adored every season, beneficent all seasons, Indra, most potent, I hear
यह ब्रह्म, जो ऋतुओं में पूजनीय है, इन्द्र नाम से, अत्यंत शक्तिशाली है।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1769
त्वामिच्छवसस्पते यन्ति गिरो न सँन्यतः
O lord omnipotent, Indra, to you rise and reach all voices of adoration, just like the voice of the self- controlled wise.
हे सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु, आपकी ओर सभी स्तुति वचन, संयमित वाणी की भांति, उठकर पहुँचते हैं।
Chapter 19 · Verse 1770
वि स्रुतयो यथा पथा इन्द्र त्वद् यन्तु रातयः
Like streams of water flowing by their natural course, O lord munificent, Indra, let your gifts of wealth, honour and excellence flow free for humanity.
हे इन्द्र, जैसे नदियाँ अपने मार्ग से बहती हैं, वैसे ही आपकी उदारताएँ और धन-सम्पदा मनुष्यों के लिए प्रवाहित हों।
